Deer Tick Play Through Power Cut To Thrill End of The Road Crowd

| On 13, Sep 2010

Deer Tick came through adversity to thrill the crowds at this years End of The Road festival. Having already performed on the main stage the previous day, the Providence based band were due play again on the Tipi Tent the following evening. However, half way through a set that included new single Choir of Angels and crowd favourite These Old Shoes, the power cut, leaving the band to finish the set acoustically.

Lit by the flashes from fans phones and cameras, Deer Tick were joined on stage by Mountain Man for a rendition of Day Dreaming, a song from John McCualey’s project MG&V. Not wanting to make the fans at the back feel left out the band set off through the crowd, singing as they went. The lights briefly came on again but as quickly as the power reappeared it was gone and so Deer Tick had to finish their set in the dark. Frontman John McAualey led a crowd-sing-along, going through a medley of Gone Till November, Silent Night and Happy Birthday, before finishing with their track Ashamed with the crowd by then in full voice.

Deer Tick are heading to Europe for a string of shows before returning to the UK for an eight date tour that includes a sell-out show at Cargo on the 28th September.
