Fresh from their first UK show (sold out) in thirteen years and the release of new single ‘Faults’,Seefeel have been chosen to support Michael Rother and furious.com at the Barbican in October. Michael Rother named Seefeel as one of his his favourite artists of the 1990’s, making this a natural pairing.

Warp co-founder Steve Beckett asked the group to record new material after their performance at Warp’s 20th anniversary event in Paris in 2009, which he described as ‘unbelievable’; now they have regrouped with new members Shigeru Ishihara and E-da (a former Boredoms drummer). GuitaristMark Clifford explains: ‘We always said that we wouldn’t record a new Seefeel record unless we could present something that we felt was new. With the addition of E-da and Shige, things have developed and grown.’

The band’s relationship with Warp Records began in 1994, and their unique blend of ambient textures, guitar loops and effects made them one of the label’s most emblematic acts. After 1995’s ‘Succour’ they stopped performing live, making this London show even more of a must-see.

The legendary German group NEU! released only three albums between 1972 and 1975 (‘Hallogallo’ was the opening track of their first), but their influence has been out of all proportion to their modest commercial success: they have been lauded by David Bowie, Hawkwind, Iggy Pop, Sonic Youth, Radiohead, U2, Wilco, Primal Scream, and many others.

Michael Rother has invited the following musicians to visit the NEU! universe with him at this special show: Steve Shelley (drums, Sonic Youth), Benjamin Curtis (guitar, School Of Seven Bells), andAaron Mullan (guitar, Tall Firs). They will perform only a limited number of concerts this year – this is one of only three UK shows – performing NEU! music as well as some selections from Rother’s work with Harmonia and his solo albums.
