The View play Hard Rock Cafe London ŒAbsolute Radio Presents The Hard Rock 40th Anniversary Sessions

| On 17, Feb 2011

Thursday 17th February– Hard Rock Cafe, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and Absolute Radio have today announced that THE VIEW will be performing as part of the re-named ‘Absolute Radio Presents The Hard Rock 40th Anniversary Sessions’ live at Hard Rock Cafe London on Thursday 3 March 2011.

This intimate music show is one of many special events and activities taking place between now and June to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hard Rock Cafe. Starting in May, Hard Rock will host “40 Days That Rock”, where Hard Rock Cafes around the world will host local events and promotions to mark the occasion. Since opening on 14 June 1971, the original Hard Rock Cafe in London has hosted many world-class music events including concerts, appearances and performances from artists such as Aerosmith, Paul McCartney, The Who, The Police, Iron Maiden, Stevie Wonder, and as part of the monthly shows with Absolute Radio – Manic Street Preachers, Editors, Scouting For Girls and Amy Macdonald.

The Hard Rock Cafe London show will precede The View’s recently announced UK tour, and will therefore be a great chance to hear brand new tracks from the band’s forthcoming album ‘Bread and Circuses’ which will be released next month. Hosted by Absolute Radio Hometime DJ Geoff Lloyd, this Hard Rock Cafe show will air on the station on Thursday 10th March from 7pm in Geoff Lloyd’s Hometime Show.   Fans can only win tickets by tuning into Absolute Radio, or going on www.absoluteradio.co.uk <http://www.absoluteradio.co.uk> .

Extending the birthday theme, guests to this exclusive show – and future ‘Absolute Radio Presents The Hard Rock 40th Anniversary Sessions’ shows – will be treated to an exclusive 40th anniversary cocktail on arrival, DJs before and after the live music plus mouth-watering picks from Hard Rock Cafe’s classic American menu, making this show one not to be missed!

The View released their debut album ‘Hats Off to the Buskers’ in 2007, which went in the UK album chart at No.1 and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize that year, eventually going platinum. ‘Same Jeans’, the third single from the album, became their most successful single to date reaching No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart, with subsequent singles ‘Wasted Little DJs’ and ‘Superstar Tradesman’ both hitting the Top 20. The View will release their third studio album ‘Bread and Circuses’ on 14 March, preceded by the single ‘Grace’ which will be released on 7th March and follows on from free download ‘Sunday’ that was made available on the bands’ website theviewareonfire.com back in November.
