Belleruche Unveil New Single

| On 07, Mar 2011

The third single from Belleruche’s highly lauded ‘270 Stories’ album is “3 Amp Fuse”, to be released digitally on 4th April, closely following the London trio’s debut appearance at SXSW.

“3 Amp Fuse” epitomises the London trio’s knack for fashioning a sound that is both catchy and unusual, and cooks up the perfect pop storm; opening with emphatic kettle drums and a driving bassline topped off with Kathrin deBoer’s bittersweet, world-worn vocals and suspenseful, staccato strings, it builds to a shuddering crescendo in three minutes on the dot.

Belleruche’s last single, “Fuzz Face”, was picked up for early BBC 6Music support by Nemone and Huey Morgan, and won the BBC 6Music Rebel Playlist in December 2010 with a landslide 87% of the vote. More 6Music airplay followed from Steve Lamacq, Shaun Keaveny, Jo Good and Chris Hawkins to add to a whole host of radio and press across specialist and mainstream channels, from The Times to Clash; and XFM and NME Radio to the BBC 6Music Funk & Soul Show. Suffice to say, they are a band to watch.

The ‘270 Stories’ album, released in October 2010, has seen Belleruche build on the sound and the success of their two previous LPs (‘Turntable Soul Music’ and ‘The Express’, each of which have sold 20,000+) and climb to the next level of recognition, with rapturous reviews for the strength of songwriting and offbeat crossover style, including breathless comparisons to the XX. Recent appearances, sessions and interviews on UK radio shows have included Nemone (BBC 6Music), Huey Morgan (BBC 6Music), Loose Ends (BBC Radio 4) and Craig Charles (BBC 6Music), with NPR and KEXP in the US and many more internationally. The acclaimed videos for “Fuzz Face” and first single “Clockwatching” have now accrued 250,000 YouTube hits in total in a short matter of months, and the video for “3 Amp Fuse” goes live on Monday 28th February.

With a huge public appetite for their spellbinding live shows which feature Kathrin deBoer on vocals and loop station, DJ Modest on turntables and Ricky Fabulous on bass and guitar (all augmented occasionally with backing vocalists, more decks, cellists and, um, a typewriter…) Belleruche have toured ‘270 Stories’ around the UK, France, North America, Australia and New Zealand, and are gearing up to play the mighty South By Southwest in March. Further tours of the UK and Europe are now being booked for later in spring, including a confirmed headline show at London’s KOKO on 14th May.

The “3 Amp Fuse” single release features three tasty bonus tracks: “13.6.35 (Natural Self Remix)”, “Scratch My Soul (Loki Remix)”, and “Fuzz Face (Pollyn Remix)”, all of which will delight and intrigue fans.
