Introducing The Kabeedies

| On 04, Apr 2011

The Kabeedies are releasing their new single ‘Santiago’ on April 11th but are giving their fans a chance to get it for free right now. This single marks another giant leap forwards for this exciting and acclaimed young band. It’s an upbeat and catchy piece of indie-pop that displays their ability to write memorable songs that make you smile and move your feet.

Back in 2007 a bunch of teenagers formed a band in their home city of Norwich. Their demo was picked up by Steve Lamacq and he played it on his show, they then found themselves at Maida Vale recording a session for Huw Stephens.  Following this support they picked up festival slots at Glastonbury and Latitude, a US tour with CSS and a few single releases here and there. In 2009 The Kabeedies continued their run with a UK tour, more festival appearances and the release their debut album ‘Rumpus’ to much acclaim.

As the band got older (well, nearly out of their teens) they continued picking up support and were tipped by many as a great young band to keep an eye on. In 2010 they released a further two singles and toured the UK and Germany. They also gained some interesting support slots with Hurts, Everything Everything and Darwin Deez. Add to all these accomplishments a lucrative synch with Microsoft that sees their song ‘Joyride’ used in a worldwide campaign for the game ‘Kinects’ and we are pretty much there.

The Kabeedies have consistently delivered catchy, energetic indie pop since they arrived on the scene. Their live show is a real treat and the band have shown themselves to be not only extremely accomplished, but so much fun too. ‘Santiago’ live is pretty special but fully fleshed in the studio and with added trumpet and flugelhorn it soars to incredible highs leaving the listener with a smile as wide as a mile and with the feeling that summer is just around the corner.
