Richard Walters has announced an album launch show in the intimate setting of the St Parncras Church in London on 4th May as well as being confirmed as main support for Sophie Barker (Zero 7) on her upcoming spring tour. Walters’ new album Pacing is out on the 2nd May through Kartel.

Although studio sessions began for Pacing way back in 2007 (two years before the release of Walters’ debut album The Animal) as a collaborative project between Bernard Butler and Walters, both parties were diverted by other projects and the album wasn’t completed until late 2010.

Whereas The Animal was softly spoken, largely acoustic and frequently introspective, his new songs are bigger in sound, and more immediate. Though there is a definite trace of Butler’s influence – both in the production, and the occasional riff -there is the same narrative depth, vocal purity and emotional resonance across Pacing that makes Walters so special.
