The most adventurous of all the New Orleans brass bands…The Soul Rebels are the missing link between Louis Armstrong and Public Enemy.” Village Voice

Utterly uninhibited hip-hop hybrid, not to be missed
Rolling Stone Magazine

The Soul Rebels Brass Band are a goodtime party band like no other, with an infectious energy that’s impossible to resist. Multiple shows at last year’s London Jazz Festival in association with BBC Radio 3 brought audiences across London to their feet and now their first ever UK tour is set to bring a taste of New Orleans Mardi-Gras spirit to cities across the country!

Soul Rebel Brass Band is a seven-piece band steeped in the rich traditions of New Orleans jazz and the cities famous marching bands. If jazz music is the heart of New Orleans, then the Soul Rebels’ music is the blood that pumps through the city’s body. One of the bands featured in the hit HBO series, Treme, the Soul Rebel Brass Band embraces the rich jazz traditions of their homeland but add life-affirming vocals and hip shaking grooves aplenty. Blending Mardi-Gras funk, soul, and ska with a hip hop sensibility, their contagious originals and updated take on standards have won them loyal audiences across the globe. Their eclectic live show harnesses the power of blazing hot horns, rebel-rousing funk-until-you-drop rhythms, and utterly uplifting vocals in the party-like atmosphere of a New Olreans club or street party.
