‘With gliding synths and the kind of talented guitar melodies that have a magical appeal, guaranteed to lure you in like the Wicked Witch’ – The Recommender
Formed in mid 2010, London based trio Waylayers have immediately set about crafting stunning, atmospheric pop, fusing elements of electronica and indie rock with ethereal yet melodious vocal lines and hooks. They instantaneously caught the attention of the legendary Steve Lamacq who has already touted them as ‘unsigned band of the week’ on his 6music show. It was this buzz that led them to the door of producer Ewan Pearson (Delphic) who straight away saw the bands ability to put together songs shot through with an effortless pop-nous.
Indeed, recent track Fires popped up on Kitsune’s 10th Maison compilation and the band have played a speight of shows in the capital including Camden’s KoKo in build up to the release of debut single ‘Hear No Lies’.
Indeed, no track sums up the bands huge ability up more than debut single than ‘Hear No Lies’ whose haunting, layered synths and driving sense of melody make it a reflective yet powerful statement of intent for a band who look set to do big things over the next 12 months.
Hear No Lies is released on August 1st 2011
