The Jar Family to release new single, with very limited DVD video offer

| On 10, Aug 2011

The Jar Family , perhaps the group The Band might have been…if they had grown up in Hartlepool in the 00’s.

Ok maybe that’s a little premature, but they are a group formed of 5 individual artists, singer songwriters who share the same vision and had the good fortune to find themselves brought together by Jar Records to realise it. Their sound, rootsy, folk-inflected indie harmonies, owes a debt to the pre-MOR rock of the late 60s as much as it does their own North Eastern origins.

Debut single Poolie Strut (Radio Edit) was recorded at the legendary Sawmills and produced by Keith Wilkinson of Squeeze (who has now joined the band as bassist).

Like the eponymous strut, the track both shuffles and swaggers and has proved a crowd favourite as well as a positive response from radio (recently featured on BBC Introducing)
Officially released Aug 22nd, it is currently available on the band’s webstore for just 49p – the first 20 people to buy it and share the love (twitter or Facebook) get a super-rare DVD of the video, officially dropping next week.
