Rubywork have download sale in response to losses in the PIAS warehouse arson attack

| On 16, Aug 2011

RUBYWORKS “THINGS WE LOST IN THE FIRE” DOWNLOAD SALE, LIVE ON NOW ON iTUNES.

Ireland’s leading independent label Rubyworks was badly hit by the arson attack on PIAS’ distribution partner Sony DADC in Enfield on Monday night. The label’s stock, and that of sister label Model Citizen, exceeding 10,000 albums was destroyed in the blaze.

“It’s a devasting blow” commented Label Manager Roger Quail “not just for us, but for the entire independent label community”. PIAS and Sony DADC are working quickly to put an alternative distribution centre in place. “PIAS have risen to the challenge” adds Quail, “we are getting great support from them and our partners in manufacturing”.

A sudden surge in demand for new stock from labels affected by the fire is likely to mean it will be weeks before stock levels return to normal. As a stop gap measure, Rubyworks and Model Citizen are offering their entire back catalogue at the special “fire sale” price of £4.49 for a limited time only on iTunes UK, including albums from Rodrigo y Gabriela, Gavin Friday, Mary Coughlan, Wallis Bird, Sinead O’Connor and Fight Like Apes.

Mary Coughlan – ‘The House Of Ill Repute’

Wallis Bird – ‘New Boots’

Moving Hearts – ‘Live In Dublin’
