On November 28th 2011, the newly set up LOVE MUSIC, HATE VIOLENCE organisation will be releasing a very special and unique download only compilation album featuring acts from a host of labels affected by the recent Sony Warehouse fire in Enfield. The compilation will be released from the site (Designed by Cannonball PR)– http://www.lovemusichateviolence.com/

On top of the compilation, a one off LMHV t-shirt emblazed with the logos and support of many of the UK’s premier rock and alternative bands, as well as some festival and magazine brands that have lent their support to the cause, will be available online at the LMHV website before the end of September. Part donated by Merchandise For Life, the t-shirt is fully endorsed by Bring Me The Horizon, Enter Shikari, The Blackout, Young Guns, Architects, Funeral For A Friend, Your Demise, Last Witness, TRC and Feed The Rhino, as well as Hevy Music Festival, Hassle Records and Rock Sound magazine.

Further, Atmosphere Merch have also donated 200 t-shirts to be added to the non-profit drive, which will feature the brilliant artwork from the download compilation, and will also be for sale ONLY from the LMHV website.

The download only compilation features acts and tracks from a wide range of the affected labels such as Hassle, Ambush Reality, Full Time Hobby, Fear and Records, Live Forever, Side One Dummy, Search and Destroy, Best Before, Xtra Mile, Cantora, Abeano, One Little Indian and many more. IT has also been suported and approved by many other affected labels like Memphis Industries, Cantora records, Sunday Best, Family Records, Polyvinyl and many more.

The LMHV organisation was set up by Matt Hughes of Devil PR and Leander Gloversmith of Mythophonic Management  in August 2011 with the sole purpose of providing some much needed funds for both PIAS and the affected labels.

As Matt Hughes states;, ‘Having worked (and still currently working) with a host of these labels, as well as with PIAS as a record label and releasing entity itself, the events in Enfield affected many of us in the music industry. A terrible act that deserves this rally call of togetherness from the labels, bands, managers and PIAS itself.’

“Independent artists and labels struggle enough to stay afloat in the shadow of internet piracy and in a highly competitive scene often dictated by transient Internet trends, let alone losing stock in a pointless act of arson” adds Leander Gloversmith

As Gustav Wood from Young Guns states; ‘We’ve always considered ourselves lucky to be involved with a label as straight up and genuine in their love of music as PIAS is. To see them and the  other independents affected by the riots so severely was awful. companies like PIAS are, in the midst of a confused and increasingly fractured industry, flying the flag for how things should and can be done. We’re happy to be involved in some small way.’

A lot of the UK’s indie labels – including our own Ambush Reality label – had a majority of their stock there, and now its all gone up in flames,” says Rou Reynolds of Enter Shikari. “While the insurance will, in time, cover some of the losses, there’ll be labels who rely on constant cashflow and might not be able to struggle through until their losses are covered. Times are hard enough for indie labels and indie shops right now, this is another sad kick in the teeth for people who put their entire lives into keeping our musical landscape exciting with minimal budgets, who can ill afford this sort of setback.”
