I won’t lie to you, I was all set to hate this single. I’d just reviewed two other records by bands that were fiercely unique, almost to the point of self sabotage, and I was all set to write this one off as the token “sensitive” song by a whiny American rock band, slagging off some poor ex because they had the audacity to leave their sorry arse. Well I’ve just had a tasty supper of my own words because, yup, this is a genuinely sensitive song but it’s also intelligent and quite beautiful. With, in all seriousness, one of the best music videos I’ve ever seen. I don’t know much about Yellowcard but if their songs share this much songwriting ability, then they should be something very special indeed. Check this out if you could do with something that gives American acoustic rock a very good name.
