Former Long Blondes front-woman Kate Jackson returns with new single & launch party

| On 01, Nov 2011

Three years since the Long Blondes parted ways and left a gaping hole in the British indie scene, front-woman Kate Jackson has returned.

Her debut solo single, the double A sided ‘Wonder Feeling’ and ‘The Atlantic’, is released in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory on Monday 5th December

The two tracks were co-written with Butler at Edwyn Collins’ West Heath studios and produced by Butler at his own 335 studio.

Kate Jackson – Wonder Feeling / The Atlantic by KateJackson

Wonder Feeling is a mini road movie, a story of teenage rebellion and lust played out in a landscape of English motorways, suburban bedrooms and late night indie discos.

Caught between New York and London, The Atlantic tells the tale of an in-flight, all night party symbolising the short term rush yet long term hangover of an affair conducted between those two cities.

Inspired by the films of Wim Wenders, David Lynch and Wong Kar Wai as well as writers such as Alain De Botton and Iain Sinclair, Jackson’s lyrics read like cinematic poems.

A limited edition run of 300 triple gatefold 7″ with hand screen printed sleeves will be available exclusively from www.vfeditions.com. These will be numbered and signed as all artwork for the single was designed and hand drawn by Jackson herself. A run of 200 7″ only copies will be available in all good independent record shops from Monday 5th December.

The single launch party will be at Hoxton Bar and Kitchen on Wednesday December 7th 2011.
