Upcote Farm, near Cheltenham, GLOS. GL54 4BL

The award-winning 2000trees Festival will bring a slice of summer fun to the picturesque Cotswolds when it returns for its sixth year on July 12-14.

Music fans will get the chance to discover the very best new and underground British bands on four stages, plus comedy, quality food and drink and children’s entertainment.

Tickets for the three-day event – which has sold out for the previous two years – go on sale on February 1, with organisers promising line-up announcements to follow soon.

Founder James Scarlett said:  “Music fans love the intimacy and friendliness of small, independent festivals, as well as great value for money and everything being in easy walking distance.

“We have spent the winter planning to make 2012 our best year yet and we’ve got some very exciting news on the horizon, so we’re really looking forward to the summer.”

2000trees has established itself as one of the leading small festivals in the British summer calendar, winning the Grass Roots Festival Award in the UK Festival Awards 2010 – voted for by festival fans.

Around 5,000 music lovers gather for a weekend of the country’s finest indie, acoustic, folk, hardcore and post-rock plus a sprinkle of other genres and smattering of musical surprises.

Upcote Farm has previously played host to Frank Turner, Dan le Sac v Scroobius Pip, Bombay Bicycle Club, Los Campesinos!, Pulled Apart By Horses, Tribes, Frightened Rabbit, The Subways, Goldheart Assembly and Tall Ships – to name but a few.

Tickets – including a limited number of earlybird tickets at last year’s price – are available from the 2000trees Festival website: www.twothousandtreesfestival.co.uk

Created by a group of friends in 2007, the festival was borne out of frustration with the ever increasing corporate sponsorship and ‘musical merry-go-round’ nature of the larger mainstream British festivals.

Disillusioned by extortionate ticket prices and over priced food and drink, this band of festival veterans vowed to take matters into their own hands and in true punk rock style set about developing the perfect antidote.
