The Wild Mercury Sound

‘Slow’, the new single 26th March 2012

TWMS: Ashley Cooper (drums), Benji Compston (vocals, guitar), Johnny Lillis (guitar)
& Jonny Allan (bass).

The Wild Mercury Sound follow debut single ‘Miss Frost’ (October 2011) with new single ‘Slow’, due for release on 26th March 2012 via Cartoon Records ‘Slow’ was produced by Peter Miles (Dry The River, King Blues) and is a taster for the band’s debut album, due in Summer 2012.

‘Miss Frost’ introduced the London band to the wider public following a year of low key shows topped off with two sell outs at London’s Barfly. Steve Lamacq made them his New Band of the Week on his 6 Music show with ‘Miss Frost’ winning the Rebel Playlist whilst blog love came in waves with Room Thirteen praising a sound ‘destined to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up for all the right reasons’ and Subba-Cultcha identifying them as a ‘serious band to watch’. Lamacq himself described ‘Miss Frost’ as ‘like a scene from Fight Club going on in your head’. ‘Slow’ is a second salvo of towering guitars and vocal poise that has seen the band compared to the likes of Jeff Buckley, Jane’s Addiction and Radiohead.

‘Slow’ is released along with b-side ‘Assisted Sleep’ through Cartoon Records on 26th March 2012.
