The Lights Unveil Single & Tour Dates

| On 20, Mar 2012

Featuring the breathless but faultless vocals of Liz Shiels and moulded with a blend of lush harmonies and musicianship that has become the hallmark of theLights.

The Gavin Monaghan produced Teenager of the Century saw the band burst through the doors and on to the floor of the national media stage. A whirlwind of a twelve months have seen the band invited to play an exclusive Q Radio set for Caroline Beavon, gain single support from Radio 2’s Janice Long and 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins and appear on the radar of Radio 2 Head of Music Jeff Smith.

Festival offers rolled in last year at the same rate as rave reviews of the debut album ranging from Rock and Reel magazine describing them as the summers must see band to Maverick magazine saying theLights music infiltrates your mind on one listen.

“…next summers must see festival band”

Rock n Reel Magazine

“Just file under amazing music”

A stunning mix of light and shade, Teenagers of the Century effortlessly switches vocals between Liz Shiels and Shaun Kelly and delivering a brand of folk pop that dazzled radio and print press resulting in numerous BBC local radio session offers and an amazing year was capped when the band were invited to play the BBC Club late last year for an industry showcase. A remarkable year was capped when the band were signed to the BubbleEye booking agency and then snapped up by The Birdman Records. Look out for a mini tour in April.

They also found time to record a charity single in the form of The Proclaimers classic Sunshine on Leith for The Hibernian FC Foundation. The bands sound really is like no one else. A melding of five creative minds create an appealing and magnetic force. Let yourself fall in love with theLights…it’s easy to do.

Days Don’t Take Me Far Enough Away is available on all major download sites and will be supported by the usual fun and quirky official video.
