Luv Luv Luv presents a new monthly club night at Birthdays in Dalston, the last Thursday of each month.  The first night, which takes place on 26th July, features live performances from Splashh, Tashaki Miyaki and Violet.

SPLASHH

Splashh began life as the brainchild of Toto Vivian and Sasha Carlson forming in late February 2012. The duo initially bonded over their mutual music tastes and then began plotting their sun drenched musical assault on the UK. Growing up between the South Pacific and the UK they left the beaches behind to record in a small bedroom in Hackney. The result was a myriad of floating, fuzz laden grunge pop tunes with a punk twist. With a number of songs in the can the boys then recruited close friends Thomas Beal on bass and Jacob Moore on drums.

The band will be releasing their debut single ‘Need It’ through Luv Luv Luv Records on July 30th. You can listen to ‘Need it’ here

TASHAKI MIYAKI

Tashaki Miyaki accidentally became a band after a late night jam in early 2011. Shorty after, the Los Angeles based duo began writing and recording songs for their self titled EP released on UK vinyl label, The Sounds of Sweet Nothing.

VIOLET

The 21 year-old Londoner has taken her musical moniker from Hole’s 1994 hit of the same name. “Hole was a huge influence on me growing up in a lot of ways – their music, their look – and ‘Violet’ is one of my favourite songs,” she explains. “The music is angry and dark and aggressive but it’s still a love song; there’s still a soft sentiment to it, the lyrics are fragile. I like that juxtaposition in music but I’ve kind of reversed it in my work; I wanted the music to be soft but the lyrics to be darker and heavier.”
