“A polyrhythmic, rump-rotating blend of brass, keys, percussion, guitar and vocals.”
“When it comes to rump-shaking dance music, Colombia’s Ondatrópica is hard to beat.”
“Brilliantly marries alien forms with cumbia’s clattering rhythms and wheezy accordions.”

All-star Colombian group Ondatrópica release their debut album this week through Soundway Records as they gear up for their first ever UK shows. A 12 piece Ondatrópica touring band headline the Hackney Empire on Friday 20th July before appearing on The Americas stage at The BT River of Music on 22nd July.

The 12 piece live band includes 74 year old Michi Sarmiento, crowned the Godfather of Ondatrópica during the recording process, 82 year old flautist Pedro Ramayá,  singer Markkitos Micolta and a group of younger musicians that includes singer Nidia Góngora, beatboxer and percussionist Chongo, Quantic and Mario Galeano.
