Robert Vincent – Riot’s Cry

| On 21, Oct 2012

Robert Vincent is a British alt-rock singer-songwriter, and ‘Riot’s Cry’ is his first single – a preview of his forthcoming 2013 debut album.

The Liverpudlian’s music has been described as alternative country in the past, but this single has more in common with psychedelic Britpop – spaced out electric guitar lines spice up acoustic strumming and folk drumming, with Robert Vincent layering his vocals in an attempt to replicate Beatles harmonies.

The principle melody is strong, and the interjecting (electric) guitar parts electrifying. This tune actually has a lot in common with the more accessible material on the first Tame Impala record, and is the song Noel Gallagher has been crying his heart out trying to write.

Robert Vincent is currently touring the UK, and you’d be wise to check him out. A very promising new UK singer-songwriter voice.
