Professor Green and Barclaycard join forces to transform a secret location for one of the most exciting gigs this year

MOBO and NME winner Professor Green to perform at free Barclaycard gig to celebrate contactless payment technology on London buses

On Saturday 23rd March, London-born rapper Professor Green will take to the stage to perform an exclusive live gig for Barclaycard in a secret London venue to celebrate London life being made easier now contactless payment technology is available on Transport for London (TFL) buses across the Capital.

Since his last album ‘At Your Inconvenience’, Professor Green has gone on to secure a number one with Emeli Sande for the hit single ‘Read All About It’. Back this year stronger than ever, Professor Green will appear at the Barclaycard Contactless Gig for an exclusive set.

He will be supported by special guest act – Ady Suleiman, a singer-songwriter from Nottingham, who will perform a raw and untamed live set with his band.

People can apply to win a pair of just 280 free tickets available for the gig by entering the AAA competition here.

Winners will then be given a meeting point in either North, East, South or West from where they will be whisked away by special Contactless buses to the secret location.

Professor Green said: “Being a London lad born and bred, I have been using public transport all my life so I am really looking forward to performing at the Barclaycard Contactless Gig and to help celebrate this new form of payment on London buses.

Barclaycard is proud to be working in partnership with TFL to help provide the technology to support buses across the Capital now accepting contactless payments. Contactless payments make it easier and more convenient for customers to pay for their travel on London’s transport network.

Nick Clements, Managing Director for UK Consumer Cards said: “We are really excited to have teamed up with Professor Green for this exclusive free gig. We wanted to celebrate the fact that Londoners can now use contactless cards to pay for journeys on TfL buses, and Professor Green’s London roots make him the perfect artist to help us do this.

“Offering our customers access to music and entertainment is a priority for Barclaycard along with bringing them the latest in payments innovation. We want to make our customers lives easier and with buses all across the Capital now accepting contactless payments, we believe it’s a quicker and more convenient choice than paying with cash.”

Since Barclaycard brought contactless technology to the UK in 2007, it has become recognised as the fastest and simplest way to pay.  Retailers all over the UK are turning to contactless; these include Waitrose, M&S, McDonalds and Tesco. You can use your contactless card to pay for purchases under £20.
