Soundcrash and CME presents a Summers night of mesmerizing live music at the intimate North London venue, The Shacklewell Arms.

Jono McCleery, the London based solo artist signed to Ninja Tune, completed his first album ‘Darkest Light’ independently in 2008 which was self-produced and funded by fans, including folk-star Vashti Bunyan and BBC radio DJs Tom Robinson and Fiona Talkington, and is now available worldwide on iTunes. Jono has toured with the likes of Gil Scott Heron, Bonobo, Fink, Jose Gonzales, Little Dragon, Jamie Woon and Portico Quartet and sites his main influences as John Coltrane, Nick Drake, Bill Withers, Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone and John Martyn.

“Jono’s music is timeless. Music that is non perishable, that reflects past, present and future in an instant. Likened to having the melodies and rich vocals of John Martyn, the darkness of Nick Drake, the soul of Marvin Gaye and the romantic indulgence of Jeff Buckley; Jono is defining a new folk/soul sound of our time.” – Dannii Evans www.onetaste.co.uk

Milly Blue’s music is written on ukulele, featuring tuneful tales of museum curators, horrifying monsters and travelling heroes and painted pictures of love and loss. Rooms fall silent as she sings and tiny pins have been heard to drop from the sudden-still hands of those entranced by the soulful timbre of her sound. From guesting for Basement Jaxx to touring with Motown legends her collaborations have never been dull and her solo material will not disappoint. Commended for having a “Dreamy Romanticism” to her voice, her lyrical tales will bring a smile whilst (maybe) provoking a tear….
