As the first single taken from this transatlantic artists’ debut album Contradictions, this offers an exciting preview to an LP sure to be full of electro-pop goodies. The song builds with a euphoric crescendo of synths and is a combination of upbeat and catchy melodies, contrasted against her unique oriental-meets-folk vocals. This song wouldn’t sound out of place on any dance floor.  Unlike the majority of mainstream EDM, which tends to be dull and unoriginal, having written the lyrics herself, Jana Josephina explores her own thoughts and inner battles, “I want to be mindful and naive”. This relates back to her title concept about contradictions, which formed the basis of her album and inspiration. Proof that electronic music can be intelligent and just as fun. Produced by Joe Cross, who has previously worked with the likes of Zoot Women and chart-topping Mancunian pairing Hurts, this is a track which could potentially draw some future chart success for this multi-talented individual.
