The Whigs announce new single Hundred / Million

| On 23, Sep 2010

The Whigs continue to make inroads into the UK with the release of the first single ‘Hundred/Million’ from their stunning new album ‘In The Dark’ just months after supporting the Kings of Leon at their sold out Hyde Park show in June.

Recorded with Ben H. Allen (Animal Collective, Gnarls Barkley) ‘In The Dark’ is both atmospheric and ambitious, without losing the pedal-to-the-metal power that earned them universal praise as one of America’s finest young rock ‘n’ roll bands.

Opening track ‘Hundred/Million’ with it’s bass heavy groove, hook ridden guitars and stadium sized chorus sets the tone for the rest of album which is rapidly propelling The Whigs to new heights across the US as they continue to support Kings of Leon alongside The Black Keys across North America.

An exuberant, no-holds-barred live act, The Whigs spent much of the last two years traversing the planet, earning their stripes as special guests to The Kooks, BRMC, Drive By Truckers plus alongside fellow Athens, GA contemporaries and Kartel label mates Dead Confederate as well as playing stage sealing sets at T In The Park, Oxegen, Fuji Rock and Rock Werchter.

‘Hundred/Million’ is set for release on 15th November through Kartel with the album ‘In The Dark’ set to follow in early 2011 and live dates to be announced shortly…
