The Maine announce debut UK headline tour

| On 24, Nov 2010

“Caught somewhere between the shiny pop-rock of The Academy Is  and a weighter,  more organic sound… ones to watch” – Kerrang!

“Crowd-pleasing hooks” – Rock Sound

Recent months have seen The Maine make substantial inroads towards making a major international breakthrough. Their second album and major label debut ‘Black & White’ hit the Billboard Top 20, and the band subsequently completed a sold-out co-headline UK tour with Mayday Parade that included two London dates at the IslingtonAcademy.

Now the Arizona quintet are confirmed to return to the UK and Ireland in March 2011 to step out as headliners in their own right. The tour, listed as below, culminates with their biggest London show to date at Koko:

March

16th – Brighton, Concorde 2

17th – Birmingham, O2 Academy 2

18th – Dublin, Academy

19th – Belfast, Speakeasy (matinee show)

21st – Glasgow, Garage

22nd – Leeds, Cockpit

23rd – Manchester, Academy 2

24th – London, Koko

Tickets for the tour go on sale from Wednesday November 24th at a price of £11.50 for London, EU14.35 for Dublin and £11 for all other shows. Never Say Never join the bill as special guests.

Produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Papa Roach, Daughtry), ‘Black & White’ is a departure for the band after their debut album ‘Can’t Stop Won’t Stop’ which was released by Fearless Records in 2008. “We’re trying to go for more of a raw feel – really just a free, loose record,” explains front man John O’Callaghan. Inspired by the classic sounds of American rock ‘n’ roll, the album is a collection of songs with universal, relatable themes that retain the band’s sense of youthful exuberance.

Hailing from Tempe, Arizona, The Maine have been writing, recording and touring since they were barely out of high school. Already, they’ve sold over 120,000 albums, 700,000 digital singles and racked up 7 million views on YouTube. The quintet’s numerous high profile tours have included 2009’s Warped Tour as well as dates with Good Charlotte,Metro StationAll Time LowThe Academy Is… and Boys Like Girls.
