THE SUPERMEN LOVERS – Take A Chance

| On 29, Nov 2010

A collection of nu-disco royalty huddle together to produce a masterpiece.

Too long has the party scene waited, with bated breath, for the return of these electro magicians. ‘Take a chance’ takes the best of the underground and makes it accessible to the masses.

This pressing, despite being singular in name is in fact packed to the brim with no less than 6 remixes with input from the likes of Todd Edwards and, perhaps the pick of the bunch, being the Chloe Remix at track 5.

By the looks of things, the ‘Starlight’ (music sounds better with you) crew are leaning on a lot of the old faithful to get their name back in the clubbing spotlight, and it’s no surprise that so many were so willing to get involved.  With the Cuban funk stroke African sub-culture in the catchy, hook-laden ‘move your hips or die’ nu-funk disco that is on display here it’s ALL here.

Amongst the almost perfect production and creativity on display, the final touch is the ever-presence of vocalist extraordinaire Rick Bailey lending vocals on original track one, who never cease to bring the house down with his understated, almost deep-house tenor.  His lyrical game play and ability to fit perfectly into the track at hand shows a true gift that not many could even aspire to.

With this work behind them, and as a sign of the group’s musical progression and well-planned re-negotiation of world domination, all there is left to say is – Look out world. They’re back…
