“Some Day Soon” is three and a half minutes of acoustic loveliness that proves Murdoch deserves the level of praise heaped on him. It manages to be laid back yet never lazy, instead it is an elegant and earnest example of how to make good, honest music. There is a rugged delicacy to Murdoch’s vocal that is truly affecting as a listener and the Scottish influence in Murdoch’s heritage truly shows in his vocal performance that reminds me a little of Frightened Rabbit. “Some Day Soon” is one of those tracks that manages to be a calm and consistent and yet never fades into the background; highly recommended.
