Ra Ra Riot Get Remixed by Kisses and The Antlers, Tour UK in May + Release New Single

| On 02, May 2011

“majestic music” – NME
“sweetly hopeful, polyrhythmically-propelled mix of chamber pop and intelligent alt rock” – Time Out

Ra Ra Riot have been remixed by Kisses and The Antlers ahead of their UK tour in May and the release of a new single.

The energetic New York indie quintet have been given a summery chillwave rework courtesy of LA’s Kisses on new track ‘Massachusetts’, taken from Ra Ra Riot’s forthcoming second album ‘The Orchard’ due for a UK release on the 16th May.

Fellow New Yorkers The Antlers go one step further with their minimal electronic take on ‘The Orchard’, remixing the whole album down to just under 5 minutes.

The Kisses remix will be available exclusively in the UK on the vinyl version of the ‘The Orchard’ as a bonus track.

The day after the album release, Ra Ra Riot are heading out onto the road for a lightning UK visit calling at London’s Garage, Manchester and Brighton, bringing their phenomenal live shows fizzing with non-stop, elegant and intelligent indie tunes. Full details of the shows are below.

The band are also set to release new single ‘Too Dramatic’ on the 9th May, watch the imaginative, stop-animation video for this here:

In addition, Ra Ra Riot have recently announced they’re playing Fuji Rock at the end of July, sharing the bill with Battles and Best Coast. RRR are pleased to be returning to Japan so soon after their April show, being one of the first American bands to play a show in the country after the earthquake and tsunami.

‘The Orchard’ is the band’s sophomore record and as its title suggests, was recorded at a peach orchard farmhouse in upstate New York. On this album, the band seem to have found an assurance and joie de vivre that came from the closure obtained by laying their debut, ‘The Rhumb Line’ to rest.
