Psychedelic Horseshit – Laced

| On 17, May 2011

With a plethora of sounds bound together, distorted, subverted, stretched and Laced, Psychedelic Horseshit’s latest release is a multifaceted abundance of synthesised melodies, primitive beats and disorientating rhythms that make up this convoluted sound.

Whilst retaining the home-made, authentic edge essential to their sound, this release has a palpable sense of direction and focus that the band had arguably been lacking in the past. Psychedelic Horseshit have taken an adventurous approach to their chaotic sound which achieves varying levels of success. The two opening tracks Puff and Time of Day successfully disorientate listeners, removing them of all sense of time and place with a mixture of primitive beats and fairground synths, transporting listeners through thousands of years of noise in less than three minutes. The record continues to draw on sounds that facilitate a historically and geographically far-spanning journey around the globe. Revolution Waters is a highlight of the release, achieving a mix of sounds and vibes seamlessly merged together beyond the point of distinction.

Through their own convoluted musical trajectory, Psychedelic Horseshit have created a disorientating sound laced with ideas and influences that will take listeners out of this world.
