Earnest Endeavours & Dante Fried Chicken in London
aaamusic | On 06, Aug 2011
Your Chef – Dante Fried Chicken is back in London for the first time in two years! After launching the award-winning Ride or Fry food truck in Los Angeles, DFC returns to east London for a very special alternative Carnival cook-up, on Sunday 28th August, hosted by London’s own Earnest Endeavours for their second BBQ jam of the summer.
What started as the KFC R.I.P. loft jams in New York almost a decade ago, evolved into the global phenom that is the Dante Fried Chicken Show. Now residing in Los Angeles, DFC has taken over the city’s parties and street food with Ride or Fry, cooking one-of-a-kind Trans-Atlantic African Cuisine that hints of Cajun and Caribbean spice, Asian, Latin and European influence and NYC, LA, Stockholm and London love.
After introducing DFC to London’s shores for the first time in 2008 at our Thugs & Hugs Notting Hill Carnival party, over the years the Earnest Endeavours crew has cooked-up and partied-down with DFC across London, Europe and the US and we’re super excited to welcome back our favourite chef, selector and all round Eco Fresh Yo legend, DFC. KFC R.I.P.
EE has once again called on crew to curate the afternoon’s music. We have a secret special guest joining us alongside artists who inspire us daily and who we’re hugely proud to call friends.
(Announced on the day)
ALEXANDER NUT & FATIMA
(Eglo /Rinse FM)
(Ho Tep / Project Mooncircle)
(Chakra / YNR)
Eglo boss and Rinse FM resident Alexander Nut is one of our favourite selectors and a man who has long fought the good fight. Fatima as you know is an amazing talent, lending her sweet vocals to jams by Floating Points, Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra, Dam-Funk and Funkineven already. We’ve had our eyes on beat junkie fLako since day, and we’ve been trying to link with him for ages – he has the swing and bounce all wrapped up, check his forthcoming release on Ho Tep for evidence.
Fresh from our Sonar collaboration we welcome back LuckyMe founders and dastardly production duo The Blessings as well as Darkhouse Fam; the fully-fledged EE crew duo repping an acute balance of bass weight and shoulder lean funk. We’re also delighted to welcome Jon Phonics a new school veteran to the party who’s blown us away with his output this year..all this happening at a wicked little outdoor (but covered!) space on Mare St in Hackney.
Check back at the Facebook Page for the full DFC Menu announcement coming shortly..
