Converse celebrates 10 years of DFA Records at 100 Club
with The Rapture, YACHT and Prinzhorn Dance School

Fifth date in music series celebrates a decade of DFA with The Rapture, YACHT and Prinzhorn Dance School on Tuesday November 1st, 2011.

Converse and 100 Club are extremely excited to announce The Rapture, YACHT and Prinzhorn Dance School for the November date of their curated series at the legendary London music venue, celebrating 10 years of DFA Records.

Founded by James Murphy, Jonathan Galkin & Tim Goldsworthy back in 2001, DFA Records have provided the soundtrack to the first decade of the 21st century.  Home to the likes of LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, Holy Ghost!, The Juan Maclean, Shit Robot, Hercules & Love Affair and of course The Rapture, YACHT and Prinzhorn Dance School; Converse and 100 Club are extremely proud to play host to some of their finest acts to celebrate a decade of excellence.

Following a welcome return to the DFA Records family, The Rapture released their long awaited, third album ‘In The Grace Of Your Love’ in September 2011 to widespread acclaim. A bold and euphoric album; the release has seen the band return to the UK stage for the first time in several years.  In what may prove to be their most intimate and exciting date for ages, the 100 Club offers the perfect backdrop for this unprecedented lineup.  Expect to hear new material alongside classic tracks like their timeless DFA debut 12” release ‘House of Jealous Lovers’.

Born in 2002 in Portland, Oregon, YACHT (Jona Bechtolt and Claire L Evans) use technology to extend physical boundaries of communication, performance, and music.  They released their second album for DFA ‘Shangri La’ – so called as this forms YACHTS utopia: a place made of songs – earlier this year.

After a four year hiatus, Prinzhorn Dance School are preparing to make their live return at the 100 Club. Their sparse, original and uncompromising sound can provoke opinion and controversy, with their debut release causing them to be labeled “the least commercially viable group ever signed to a major label” by The Guardian.  The band is currently preparing to release their second album in January 2012.
