Ink Project consist of Melanie Dymond on vocals/production and Jez Lloyd on keys/production. Following a string of live summer performances including the Sonar Festival in Barcelona, the Jazz Refound Festival in Italy, Cargo and the Notting Hill Arts Club in London as well as the release of double a-side ‘Rewind Forward Replay/Black Honey’ on October 10^th receiving support from the likes of Radio 1’s Gilles Peterson, Don Letts (6 Music), Mistajam and NME Radio; the duo release their highly antipicated album ‘Inside The Sun’ on November 7^th – a nine track long-player consisting of their own take on futuristic electronic soul music.

 

Moving between the most up-front leftfield pop and dubstep to the more downtempo and alternative music styles, production influences from artists such as PJ Harvey, Massive Attack, Little Dragon, Lamb, Four-Tet, Mount Kimbie and Bonobo are to be found bubbling beneath Melanie’s introspective lyrics and sultry vocal styles. Album highlights include the rumbling bass and poignant vocals of epic opener ‘Eye Of Glass’, the hypnotic, downtempo rhythms and infectious hooks of ‘Sold Out’, ‘Hot Lies’ and ‘Black Honey’ flowing effortlessly into the more contemporary bass-driven yet delicate sounds of ‘Erased By Sunlight’, ‘Sordid Hordes’, ‘Araldite Tears’ and recent single ‘Rewind Forward Replay’.
