Another single from London based Teeth taken from debut album Whatever. U R 1 is three minutes of loud electro-punk through which Veronica So’s voice stands out of a wall of noise.

 

Teeth’ music comes from a long tradition of plugged in punk riot grrrl bands such as Bikini Kill and Le Tigre. Stripped out of any political instance that was present in those bands, Teeth follow the more poppy influences of Sleigh Bells and Crystal Castles, failing in providing the same depth and intensity.

 

U R 1 comes with a b-side, the Friendly Ghost Remix, that gives more power and energy to this release. There is still a great unexploded potential coming from this trio, hopefully the next releases will be luckier. U R 1 is out on 21st November with Moshi Moshi.
