Who are you and where are you from?

We’re FOXE and we’re from Guildford. We formed when we started uni together. George and Mat met on their first uni night out, then they met Antonia on their first lecture. We had a rehearsal the next day and wrote our first single, ‘Frankie’!

What inspired you to get into music?

We make the music we do, because we enjoy listening to it and it’s what comes naturally to us. We all listen to a lot of different genres, although Indie-pop is the genre that we find easiest to express
ourselves in.

What have you done?

We’ve released two singles to date, ‘Bubblegum’ and ‘Honeytop’. They’re all about Frankie, who the next few songs will all be about.

What are you like live?

Live, we’re like watching a high-octane children’s book detailing the perils of Frankie in a catchy sing-a-long form.

What makes you different?

We love pink.

Physical vs Downloading vs Streaming…How do you listen to music?

Spotify and Apple Music are so easily accessible and will provide a lot more revenue for the music industry once everyone is a paid subscriber, and the free version cease to exist. Buying CDs and Vinyl is great if you’re a collector, or enjoy having physical copies, although streaming music from your phone or computer is much easier to access, you have a far bigger choice of music, and the money is distributed more fairly as it’s based on what people are actually listening to, helping out a lot of the smaller bands/artists.

Brockhampton, Childish Gambino, The Magic Gang, Vulfpeck, Parcels, J Cole..

What are your aspirations for the future?

Get a £1,000,000,000 record deal and headline Glastonbury.
