US Pop punk band Boys Like Girls are back with the release of their new single Heart Heart Heartbreak. The American four-piece have already established a large fan base with their upbeat sound similar to the likes of The Story So Far and Cute Is What We Aim For. This particular track seems strangely to owe a lot to the music of Bon Jovi, with an opening that reiterates the melody of It’s my Life and a decadent guitar solo that would not be out of place in any Bon Jovi track. The song is overproduced with more effects and vocal shifts than can surely be necessary in one track.

This release should come with a warning as if you are not able to turn it off before the chorus kicks in the catchy hooks and melodies will undoubtedly infect your mind. Ultimately a derivative piece that may hope to achieve success within the young teen bracket.
