Asian Dub Foundation
release their new single
“London Eye”
May 30th 2011
on Cooking Vinyl
plus announce multiple UK festival apperances
including
Brighton Festival Bestival & Glastonbury

Brighton Festivals 2011 guest presenter is San Suu Kyi and on May 7th inspired by the struggle in Burma, Asian Dub Foundation kick-start Brighton Festival with a special one-off performance and release a new single “London Eye” to commemorate (or coincide) the event.

Asian Dub Foundation have always been at the forefront of musical resistance and politicisation. Their new album “History of Now” is no exception with its striking themes of globalisation, democracy, climate change and revolution. “A History of Now” an album combining dancehall, dub beats, ragga and punk rock influences with hard hitting lyrics, was released earlier this year to critical acclaim and ‘London Eye” taken from the album, will be released as a digital single on May 2nd

On May 7th ADF will be joined by special guests: the drummers from the Ministry of Dhol, Nathan ‘flutebox’ Lee, powerful Romany singer Kerieva and Chinese violinists Chi 2 and MC Skrien. Jimmy Cauty (KLF, the Orb and JAMs) in his new guise as the AV artist The One O’clock Club sets the scene. Accompanied by screened footage of Al Jazeera documentary series The Music of Resistance(presented by ADF founder Chandrasonic), this unique event packs a potent agit-prop punch.
Following Asian Dub Foundations’ performance in Brighton they have also been confirmed to appear at the Glastonbury , Larmer and Bestival festivals in a run which will see audiences entertained by Asian Dub Foundations incendiary polemic and genius sound.

Jimmy Cauty, founder member of the revolutionary pop groups The Orb, The JAMMS, KLF and art organisations K-Foundation and Blacksmoke, has a roguish and voluble approach that has earned him a cult following for work that remains radical, responsive and darkly comical. Jimmy Cauty in another new venture has turned his talents to making the new video for Asian Dub Foundation’s “London Eye’.
