This Distance – The Thought Of Safety EP

| On 01, Aug 2011

“Wasteland” the song starts of with a nice guitar riff. The guitar is accompanied with some nice vocals and drums. The guitar sounds a bit more classic rock but its hard rock. The way the vocals are sung are really nice and bring you into the wasteland that is being described.  “These Days” starts of with a nice guitar riff and which grabs the listener into a trance. The drums fit again perfect with the vocals. The fills the song has are really nice and everything is fitting. The way the vocals are screamed sounds good. Overall this is the best song of the hard rock songs. “Hours” this song starts of bit a darker tune. The song is really rocky though and becomes up beat at times. The vocals are again familiar and perfectly fitting. The drums are filling the song really nice. The changes of the guitar are really nice, because the guitar changes darker and then upbeat at the right time. “Moments of Reflections” this song starts of with a nice acoustic guitar. The sound of the guitar changes to the familiar hard rock. The sound is really fitting again and the fills that this song has nice in a different way. The lyrics in this song are really touching and grab the listener. “Directions” this song starts with a faster drumbeat and guitar riff. The guitar riff drives all the time in the right directions. The sound is really nice and fitting. The changes are particular nice with the drums and the screaming again is nice and different, but fitting. “The Thoughts Of Safety” the sound is really nice, because it’s different than the rest of the album. The song starts of with an acoustic guitar. The vocals are also really clear with is fitting to this song. They also touch the listener and bring you into a happy place. This song is a nice addition to an amazing ending hard rock album by “This Distance”. The ways the vocals are doubled at the end are really nice.
