2:54 debut video ‘SCARLET’ from forthcoming EP out Nov 14th on Fiction, watch it here!

| On 23, Oct 2011

Colette and Hannah Thurlow, better known as 2:54, have already been casting their beautifully atmospheric spell with their limited edition vinyl-only release, ‘On A Wire and sold out shows across the UK earlier this year, but it is with their upcoming four-track EP “Scarlet” – released November 14 on Fiction – that their vast, darkly cinematic vision has really been unveiled in all its glory.

2:54 – Scarlet by 2:54 Band

As a glimpse into their new world order, the band have just released their single, the title track from the EP. ‘Scarlet‘ is a thrilling, swirling maelstrom of thwarted desire and ominous intent set to razor sharp guitars and instantly addictive hooks, and has already gained support at the radio from important folks such as Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq and many more. They have also just premiered the incredible accompanying video, their first video offering, directed by acclaimed new Danish director Jeppe. Haunting,  gorgeous and mysterious, it is the perfect visual reflection of the track, and just one more piece in the gloriously enigmatic puzzle that is 2:54.

The band will also be hitting the road this autumn on their own dates in November, culminating in their biggest headliner yet at London’s Corsica Studios on the 9th. Keeping in with their tradition of selecting the best up-n-comers to open for them they’ve just announced a buzzy coupling of dirgey damsels Novella, and Bournemouth’s finest pop-punks Bos Angeles for the London show.

Lastly, as if they wasn’t looking busy enough, the band head out soon on a fantastic double-header of support runs with both label mates The Maccabees, and The Big Pink on their highly-anticipated comeback tour. Full details below.
