Just the Kind of Thing is the new single from Rob Thom, a jangly folk popster who divides his time between London and Kansas City USA. The song is a cheerfully rueful tribute to finding new friends in strange places, and rockets along with duelling guitars and mandolin, reminiscent of a cheerful Bon Iver or Mark Eitzel.

The video that accompanies the song, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trTARCDgRRI&feature=youtu.be is a Michel Gondry and Wes Anderson-inspired animation; the scenes and figures were hand-painted and filmed by Rob himself with some amateur puppetry help from friends.

Just the Kind of Thing is from Rob’s forth-coming debut album, Trapped & Free; a collection of 11 acoustic folk pop songs, written and crafted on the London live circuit.

The album features support from many artists Rob has met through the Virtually Acoustic Club, and was mixed by David Sherwood, the club’s founder.

Just the Kind of Thing is released as a download single on Monday 27th February from i-Tunes, Amazon and all major download sites.
