Clare Maguire is a hot property in the English market, but not heard of in Germany. Despite this Clare Maguire shows the headliners that you can’t always rely on the same show: always changing her style and costumes to make a show that great female singers before her would be proud of, she already has a huge back catalogue of songs. She is so confident she can afford to leave out her massive hit You’re Electric – but it doesn’t really matter as a true star is born.
Hurts pull out a standard, perfectly pitched performance with no thrills other than Theo’s stage presence. With Adam wasted, hardly moving on the piano, tonight is the Theo show and no one is going to stop him from delivering a polished vocal performance. Hurts debut album ‘Happiness’ contains hit after hit: there is not any song on the album that couldn’t be released as a single, which shows a high standard of songwriting. The tracks sound just as on the record and it is helped by the fabulous vocals of their live opera singer Richard. In Germany Hurts are massive and I think they will grow and grow in size.
