To achieve a clear and pleasing singing vocal tone, every singer should understand the importance of vocal health and exercise.

Things You Must Do For An Excellent Vocal Exercising

  1. In anything and everything that you do every day, you must drink water frequently. This is to make sure that your throat is well hydrated as well as your voice track. It would be best if you can consume around 1.5 to 2 liters of water every day.

If you have a lot of jobs to look forward within the day which requires you to use your voice, you must avoid talking all the time. If you feel tired and ill, you need to get a full rest.

  5. Your jaw should be relaxed and open. Do not try to clench your teeth whenever you sing so that you will not feel a lot of tension within your jaw.
  6. Get rid of drinks and foods that can cause acid reflux and rises the secretion of your mucus within your throat. Examples of these foods are spicy, oily, full dairy products. Additionally, nuts, chocolates, alcoholic beverages, and caffeine should be avoided too.
  7. Stress and anxiety may also contribute to the loss of your singing voice so it is great that you get time to relax. Do some exercise to maintain a happier mode all the time.

Things You Must Not Do To Maintain A Full Singing Voice Exercise

Below are the things you should avoid when it comes to exercising a good singing voice.

  1. Do not whisper. This means that when you underuse your voice, it can cause tension and strain your voice causing problems in your throat.
  2. If you are experiencing a cold or flu, do not try to talk or sing extensively. Do not overuse it because the infection may worsen.
  3. You should not habitually cough and clear your throat. This will contribute to the injury of your vocals. Do not swallow your saliva, clear it out, and drink a lot of water.
  4. Do not try to push and squeeze your voice in a hard way. If you do so, you are using an excessive force in your voice which may lead to voice loss.
  5. When there is a great noise level, avoid shouting and talking too much. If you would like to talk to someone who is far come near or let that person come closer to you. This will save you from shouting and overusing your voice. Also, hand gestures can aid in addressing your message. If you are also speaking in a larger audience, you may use a microphone so you can control your voice.
  6. Don’t speak as if you are catching your breath. Try to speak naturally to maintain the right speaking pace. Breath normally as you speak.
  7. Avoid exposing your voice in dry, polluted, and dusty place. This means that you have to stay away from places where there is a high presence of smoke.
  8. When you experience prolonged illness and hoarseness of voice do not tolerate it. Seek advice from health professionals to get the proper medication.
