Well beyond the 1980s, legendary New York folk singer songwriter Suzanne Vega has continued to inspire and influence a new generation of artists.

Her first album in seven years, Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles, is released on 3^rd February, 2014 on Cooking Vinyl. This obscure sounding title tells mystical stories about how the material and spiritual worlds merge.

A brief listen to the song samples discloses the same warm and husky voice and her lyrics are just as curious and intriguing. Possibly the tone from this powerful and compelling storyteller is more confident and less fragile, so it will be interesting to review these new songs in their entirety at Suzanne’s Barbican performance later this month.
