Lisa Stansfield’s dynamic debut album Affection did, literally, result in a journey that was ‘All Around The World’. Internationally she became a hugely successful female artist and almost 3 decades later 20 million albums have been sold. She’s been Grammy nominated and the winner of multiple BRIT, Ivor Novello and Silver Clef Awards.
Her exciting eighth studio album Deeper follows the 2014 release Seven. It’s released on April 6th, 2018 on earMUSIC and was jointly written by Lisa and her song writing partner Ian Devaney and produced by Ian & Mark “Snowboy” Cotgrove with Lisa as executive producer.
Dramatic Deeper begins with the sensual and emotional ‘Everything’ and melodic ‘Desire’ provides a sexy seduction before ‘Billionaire’ leaves the listener to make decisions. As Lisa explains, it’s “all about love. It’s all about money. The rest is up to you…”. Heroic ‘Hercules’ sounds strong and adventurous, whilst the outstanding title track ‘Deeper’ is stunning. Majestic ‘Ghetto Heaven’ concludes this fine album.
Deeper is colourful funk and soul. It’s a gorgeous album by Lisa Stansfield, whose uplifting and distinctive personality seems unchanged. Lisa said that “creating this album was a wonderful adventure. I really believe there’s a special something in this record. I’m so excited to let it go out into the big wide world with pride”. She tours Europe in the Spring of 2018 and 12 UK dates are included.
