Skid Row – Live @ HRH AOR Festival

DSCF0902

Rotherham, April 6th

Opening with ’Slave to the Grind’ you think you would be instantly impressed but it falls a little flat and ’Big Guns’ is much better with singer Johnny Solinger not having the vocal range to hit all the notes, but don’t think this is a bad set by Skid Row because it isn’t they pick up the pace and get better and better as the set goes on.

The bass kicks in and Scott Hill blasts you with the opening riffs of ‘New Generation’ a newer track in the bands artilary [...]

Tesseract – Live @ HRH Prog Festival

DSCF8160

Rotherham, April 6th

Tesseract are very different from most bands you would find at a Prog festival, for a start most people would classify them as Metal. I think Tesseract are much more than aMetal band they mix up Progressive Rock and Metal riffs that might come from bands such as King Crimson and Tool. Yes this band take  a lot of influences from Tool but they do mix it up with their own style and brand of contemporary Metal.

The band have struggled with finding a vocalist that wants to stay with the band or fits in with [...]

Tesla – Live @ HRH AOR Festival

Rotherham, April 6th

Legends Tesla tear shreds out of Rotherham!

Tesla love or hate them Tesla really gave it their all today and were just the right band for the job in Rotherham. I am not a massive fan myself but I have friends that are, and after today’s performance I can see why. They really put their heart and soul and full energy into their performances.

Opening the set with the great ’I wanna Live’ singer Jeff Keith moves round the stage like a cross between Iggy Pop and Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), this [...]
