T In The Park 2011

t in the park

Having opted for Thursday camping, things at T didn’t get off to the best start for my party with two early visits to the medical centre for a twisted ankle and stomach bug.  Still, we awaited the start of T with excitement as Parade opened the festival in the King Tuts Wah Wah Tent.  Playing a shorter than scheduled set, the band looked out of their depth opting to play covers whilst a rowdy Scottish audience were more interested in [...]

Blissfield 2011

SONY DSC

30th June 2011 Blissfield’s.

The long hot summer settled quietly for 3 days in a country clearing somewhere in Hampshire.

That was until Friday morning when the world pitched up and the part-ty got’s going……… Happy Blissfield’s!

This year Blissfield’s has shifted site a couple of minutes down the road, and in my (and I’m sure) everyone else’s half drunk opinion the new digs is just fine. That translates to a much larger festival area, with more parking, camping, facilities, tents and general goings on [...]

London Feis Festival 2011

IMG_0046 copy

Finsbury Park, London18th – 19th June

Is it pouring down with rain? Have you almost killed yourself in a muddy field? Are you utterly soaked, head to toe? It doesn’t matter, you are at Feis Festival at Finsbury Park!  Very much like at Glastonbury, the “feisian” public ignores the inclement weather enjoying, instead, moments of pure nationalistic euphoria and pride. Girls wearing crowns of flowers, families watching the stage from quiet elevated spots, Irish flags dancing over the heads along with [...]

ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL 2011

Isle of Wight Festival 2011

Friday 10th

So here we come, the famous Isle of Wight Festival. This is the first time for me and I’m really excited, you know every festival is fascinating, but the Isle of Wight is like Woodstock, I imagine to find hippies and naked people running through the fields…Actually it happened in London, but that’s another story…

Here people are dressed like perfect festival-goers, wellies and rainproof, weather is changeable and rain is forecasted in the afternoon.

This year the festival is going [...]

ROCKNESS 2011

SONY DSC

I’m always really exited when I’m travelling to festivals, and this year I had a whole 12 HOURS of excitement as we drove all the way to magical Loch Ness, full of charm and history and ONE HELL OF A FESTIVAL!!! – the gates to fun time are open, the batteries are charged and Rockness 2011 is about to go live.

This is my first visit to Rockness and from the instant vibe, I’m convinced this is going to be an [...]

Download Festival – Round up of the weekend

download

70,000 fans turned out in force to celebrate the ninth annual Download Festival at Donington Park this weekend, with over 100 bands performing across 5 stages including headliners Def Leppard, System Of A Down and Linkin Park.

With a mix of sun and rain beating down on the crowds, spirits were not dampened with a huge variety of entertainment across the site including a Friday night Zombie Ball, comedy, fairground rides and exclusive acoustic [...]

San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011

Almost two weeks after another successful edition of Primavera Sound festival time was enough to work my mind regarding what were the ups and downs of a hectic weekend. Here we go again then, the usual diary is about to land!

Wednesday, 25th May

There is no better kick off to a fest than missing it completely. Well I was actually there, I simply couldn’t get in. To cut it short, organisers set up two additional evenings of [...]

V Festival 2010 – Hylands Park

kings of leon

This years’ VFestival has an interesting line up, with some of the bands having played there before in the past years (The Prodigy, Godlfrapp, Kasabian, Paul Weller) and some promoted to headliners (Kasabian). Surprise acts were, without doubt, Peter Andre and Mika (but due to much better acts performing at other stages, unfortunately we missed them).

First day unfortunately hasn’t been a full on one, with time wasted driving up there and a much deserved drink in the VIP area (and [...]

Bloodstock Open Air 2010

Bloodstock Open Air 10th Year.

We went to Bloodstock and it ROCKED!!!

Late Sunday night after I had arrived home from the event, I was saying my bedtime prayers and asked God why all festivals couldn’t be as metal and extreme as Bloodstock Open Air 2010 – I didn’t get a reply…….

To start with, the rain was very, very heavy (like the metal) and there was no way I was setting up a tent in monsoon afternoon. So me and trusty metal [...]

Sonisphere 2010

Sonisphere Knebworth 2010

The true sign of a great festival can be measured in many ways, but to most of us there are only 2 main feelings on this subject. The first of these is the post fest blues i.e. a week or 2 where you feel you have lost part of your consciousness (the good part) and that you must make every effort to get it back – it’s a very intoxicating, gloomy mind f@*$.

The second (the one that I [...]

Guilfest 2010

DSC_4509

AAAmusic sent Alan Thomas and Dave Livingstone to Guilfest. Here are their diaries from it!

Alan Thomas:

A festival that’s been around for almost 20 years and one that we feel is definitely starting to get the recognition it deserves. Taking it’s place as one of the UK’s best family festivals with some of the best toilets we’ve seen at any festival and an amazingly beautiful short walk from not only the carpark to the festival site but also to the campsite. [...]

St. Gallen 25-26-27 June 2010

25/06/2010

I would have never thought that such an enchanted place could host such a hot music festival! St. Gallen looks like the town of a fairytale, cows graze grass in peace, everything shines under a warm sun, but its heart pulsates of rock vibes.

After a journey by train lasted 11 hours, I arrive in this beautiful town together with my best friend as well as photographer for the festival. Unfortunately we miss the first cool acts, [...]

Commotion’10

DSC08188

Commotion – July 10th.

Deep in the woody back waters of Oxfordshire is ground zero for this year’s Commotion Festival.

What we have here is dynamite in hand, and there are fingers and instrument-parts galore as this one-day-only event pulls off a big festival in a small field.

I’m always going on about the rising costs of festivals (and there are a few that shall remain nameless – but are starting to bite the hand that feeds…. i.e. 100% rise in ticket costs [...]

Blissfield’s Festival 2010

Blissfield’s Diary Sat 12:00

During this frugal hot summer we all strive to make that pound go a little further, to get a bargain, the deal of the century. Well friends – let no one tell you that music festivals are too expensive. Because if you looked, you would have found this little gem……. Blissfield’s 2010. (and no it’s not a new’un, these guys have been around for 10 whole UK years!!)

It seems a little weird to find such a top [...]

Isle Of Wight 2010: Dave’s Diary

isle-of-wight-festival-2010

Dave shares with AAAmusic is diary of this year Isle Of Wight Festival!

Friday morning 8:00am. 10 figures stand tall, with jackets buttoned and hoods up, shivering in the wet fog as we sail further into nothing, no noise, just wind and rain… towards the Isle of Wight Festival 2010!!!!!

Yes folks the party defiantly didn’t start right for the Izle of Shizzle this year as the heavens opened… but hey, only lasted an hour. So stop your moaning and get your [...]
